Chapter Twenty-One

Axel

Someone was pounding on my door, and I was going to kill them. I’d woken next to Mandy, after a nice long nap, hard as fucking hell and ready to do something about it when the noise had started.

A glance at the bedside clock read one-thirty pm.

Fuck.

I was late, and there would be hell to pay with JD. We had planned for a club meeting to go over all of the new information Tel and Mandy had managed to gather the night before. Everyone was on edge waiting for a killer to make his next move. The waiting was total bullshit and he was as sick of it as everyone else. We were more than ready to go on the attack.

Only she had kept my mind and body occupied. I looked down at her curled on her side, a pillow hugged to her chest. It was a miracle the racket at the front door hadn’t woken her yet. With more than a little reluctance, I lifted off the bed and fished a pair of pants from the floor.

Our clothes were still in the living room, and while these had been crumpled on the floor for God knows how long, they would have to do.

“What’s going on?” she mumbled, either roused from the incessant pounding or my movements on the bed.

“Just someone at the door that I’m going to stab for disturbing us.”

She rolled over onto her back and hooked an arm across her face. “It’s the middle of the day, isn’t it? They’re probably waiting on us.”

“Probably. Still doesn’t excuse this bullshit.” I turned toward the door, clenching my fists.

“Wait.” She suddenly sat up and from the corner of my eye I got a fucking glorious view of her full tits. If I thought my dick was hard before, that was nothing compared to now. Not with my mouth watering and my whole body quaking with the need to lick those nipples until she begged me to stop.

“I gotta go and set them straight. This is unacceptable.” Whoever stood at my door they were effectively cock-blocking me, and I did not appreciate it.

“I’ll go with you.” I turned to catch her scrambling from the bed while simultaneously pulling one of my blankets around her naked body.

“It’s a little late for that don’t you think?” I tipped my head to indicate the almost modest wrap around her. “I’ve already seen every inch of you. EVERY inch,” I emphasized thinking about having her legs spread wide for me on the bed or her ass cheeks parted in the living room. There wasn’t a place I could go in this cabin that wouldn’t remind me of today.

She tightened the blanket and shrugged. I guessed that was all the response I was going to get.

“It will only take me a few minutes to get dressed, as soon as I find my clothes…”

I thought about those booty shorts I’d ripped off of her. “Not what you had on earlier. If anyone else sees you in those fucking short shorts, I’ll have to gouge their eyeballs out.
